Mindfulness and Self-Compassion.1



Mindfulness and self-compassion cultivates an attitude of awareness primarily on the content of our experience and the quality of our awareness.









The quality of awareness means, the way we think about ourselves. In this awareness I would suggest it is important to consider whether we are being kind and understanding to ourselves. Perhaps give a few moments to this.

Mindfulness and self-compassion encourages a Radical acceptance of ourselves. This means fully entering into and embracing whatever is in the present moment. It also refers to embracing ourselves as we are. It refers to knowing and accepting ourselves right now as a foundation of meaningful change. What is a meaningful change for you? Take a few moments here to consider this.

In mindful self compassion we talk about Resonance, as in how something resonates emotionally with us. In other words there is a sense of one feeling understood. It evokes a deep sense of connection with someone, which in turn can activate and strengthen our compassion. Through a lens of Mindfulness and self-compassion give a few moments to consider how you interact with people.

A key component to mindful self compassion is resource building. Resources are not cultivated through resonance alone but also through validating ourselves using mindfulness and compassion in our daily practice. By becoming aware of our conversations with people we can begin to observe how we respond to unmet needs behind hurt feelings. Through this, we will learn to respond with kindness to unmet needs which in turn becomes a wonderful resource to draw upon.
